Here Dalí pays homage to the female form, but adds his own special elements. Beauty of the flesh is temporary and will vanish, but the beauty of art is timeless and eternal. Space Venus is divided into two parts to reveal the egg, symbolising life, renewal, continuation and the future. Venus was the Roman goddess of love, and the underlying form in this sculpture is a classic marble statue style female torso.
